Thinking Friday and Mud

Even something thorny and stickery can be attractive and useful. These wild rosehips are often used as a cold remedy and a source of vitamin C. Some of the animals we have at first seemed mean, grouchy, and untouchable. Many, like Smoke, did not want to be touched. His ears would go back and he would leave.

If you are a beautiful white mule there is nothing better than a good roll in the mud.

Believe it or not this is a white mule. The lovely mud pack is good for her complexion.

Friday thoughts. Fog is beautiful. But when the ranch is off grid and when there is no sun and no wind some things don't get done. All dishes are washed by hand. No laundry is done. Only a few lights can be on at a time. The woodstove is so cozy. We all seemed wrapped up in a blanket and no one can see us.

Love comes as a surprise sometimes. It sneaks up on you and BAM there it is.
