Visitors Today

Today the Achieve Home Tech charter School came for a visit with teacher Charlotte Taft and many parents and children. Of course, they were here for an hour and a half before I grabbed my camera. One of the highlights was the children sitting in the goat pen surrounded by 3 happy white goats and one new Poe goat who said. "I didn't sign up for this. What happened?"



Everyone learned about the plight of unwanted horses, calves and goats . They also learned that it takes a lot of work and a lot of money to run a sanctuary.

Jane was patient, letting some of the children pet her ears.

Jim shared stories and information. Some of the children were amazed at the amount of poop there is at a ranch with 65 horses.

It seemed like everyone enjoyed themselves.

We even had a few folks think about volunteering.

The visit was only 2 hours long. It seemed to be over way too fast.

Even the littlest ones had a good time.

Then Jackson's and Baby Jane's owners came to see them. Jackson is eating now and seems to be happy with Juan. Nancy and Orville were so glad that he is doing well.

Nancy was so pleased that Baby Jane was looking so good. Those two donkeys sure had a lot of people worried.

After everyone left it started to sprinkle, so we moved horses into the barns.
It took quite a while to get them where we wanted them, but now when it rains Sunday they will be warm and dry. Wild Bill wasn't happy about being left with only Daisy and Levi as friends, but he wouldn't be happy in the barn either.
In the lower barn are Frankie, Moon Dancer, Dancing Drum, Star, Dunny, Ruby, Pedro, Rico , Chance , Harmony, Promise and Charity. Jane and Jonathan can go in, too, if they want.

In the lower barn are Lucky, Cricket, Rosie, Babe, Lacey, Lexi, Gracie, Breeze Bay, Jesse, Cash, Jackson, Juan, Charles, Belle, Quest, Navajo, Bobbie, Amira and Tess.
I may have forgotten someone or two. Callie can go in if she wants, and the back stalls are open to anyone else who wants to be under cover.
Tomorrow is Jim's mom's 90th birthday so we may not have pictures. Art and Carolyn will feed for us.
