Tues March 2 2010

Our day starts and ends with goats. This morning they ate, but things got shakey during the day. We'll try some other things to see if we can get them stronger.
I walked around and down to the stable first thing after feeding the goats. The horses couldn't believe I'd walk down to the stable without food. I wanted to get the barn ready for Breeze, Cash, and Jesse, plus 2 surprises. I wanted everyone to be set before the food arrived.
Tory greeted everyone as they came in. Cash and Breeze Bay check out the stall and turnout.
Several animals wanted close-ups today. They felt they looked especially good by early morning sunlight.

The little birds in the lower barn like to make their nests in the roof. I don't know how they manage when it gets hot, but they seem to love it. Maybe it's so warm it helps hatch the eggs. They hop all over (and out of view when I got the camera out). They get the hay and grain and recycle them. They eat the flies and bugs, too. Who are the dogs barking at?
Oh boy!! It's NorCal and Tawnee with our two new horses. The girls had been at NorCal for quite a while and had not been adopted. They are too wonderful to be homeless. They have a forever home now. Would you like to help sponsor one of these girls? Even $5.00 a month will be a great help.
Trixie was the first to be unloaded. She was ready to meet her new friends. What a lovely beauty.
Intense- now Tess- was anxious to get out and see her new home. She is beautiful and so spirited. She pranced all the way to the lower stable and trotted right in.
Several times today Jim held all four kids. They love being touched and loved. They are still in the playpen in the living room. They'll stay inside until it is warm enough outside. Then they will have their own house and yard. It is still touch and go with them. Trixie and Tess have settled in nicely and have been enjoying their new home. Trixie kicked at anyone who came too closely, but quieted down when the food arrived. Tess just put her nose down and ate.
After dinner while I was doing the blog Jim and Beth hollered, "Look at the sky. Get a picture." It was breathtaking.
Thank you NorCal for our new horses. We love them already.
Thank all of you for your kindnesses and support. We couldn't do this without you.
