Life is What Happens

One of our favorite sayings is Life is what happens when you have other plans. Due to some unforeseen circumstances we were unable to go to the Glenn County Fair. We had spent Sat. getting ready , but it wasn't to be. Then Jim's cold kept us from celebrating with his folks, but he is feeling better.Spent Sunday catching up on chores and doing computer work. Actually, I spent about 4-5 hours trying to get things to work.
The old ones enjoyed their grass eating . They have pruned most of the flowers, broken the fruit tree limbs and trampled some of the flowerpots, but they are so happy to be out that the plants will have to suffer a little. Braveheart, Tawny and Bobbie are not putting on the weight they need, even with the extra food. We are worried about them, even though Dr. Darling says there is nothing more we can do for them. Jonathan has many itches. He scratches on anything he can find. He has been getting flax seed to help with his itchiness.

Doesn't Jesse look beautiful? We got him with his winter coat and didn't know what a wonderful palomino color he had. He spent most of the winter looking like a mud ball. Now his dapples are showing and he glistens. Bobbie ate her fill, then took a nap on the warm hay.
Jim had a delicious carrot cake made for him. Thanks, Helen.

We have about 3 calls a week to take horses. 9 of our horses are sponsored, but 48 of them are not. That leaves a lot of fund raising we need to do. Asking for help is not an easy nor pleasant thing for me , but if you have even $5.00 a month you could send, it would help a lot of horses who really need it.
Thank you. homeatlastsanctuary@gmail.com
