Camelot and Birthday Party

Early Saturday morning we arrived at Camelot. We checked in and got our wrist bands. Ours were purple because we were staying for dinner. The first 100 people got a Camelot tee shirt.
Across the way was the Silent Auction tent. Boy, were there some great items inside.

Right next to us was the new local magazine Honest Horses. It's great because it features local horse news.

Also, next to us was the California State Horsemen's Association booth. They do a lot of good work for horses and horsemen.

Tina and Brian discuss our booth set-up.

Sally and Fred Hugg provide a horse supplement product. They brought the rescue horse they have brought back to good health.

Randy Glass does beautiful digital photography.

Hi Randy.

Crane Ridge has developed a great sheet for animal owners to post in their house or on their barns. If a person is unable to get home-fire, flood, road accident- someone else can see what to do for each animal. That way the animals can be cared for properly until the owners can get home.

Great idea, Susie and Robin.

Our friend Hugh is a dedicated volunteer for Camelot. He also brought Brody the donkey for the Donkey Plop game. The yard is divided in grids. A person buys one or more grids and if the donkey "plops" on that grid the person wins some money. Brody always plops.

Hugh's wife Joy is also a volunteer. A mountain lion came into their yard and killed their goat, Holly. Holly's son, Poe, is afraid to go in the goat house now and is quite depressed. Poe will be coming to live with us next week. Hopefully, all the goats will get along.

When Brian came he brought his horse, Brandie, and Home At Last's Bobbie. Tina is saying good-bye as Brian and Leah get ready to go for a ride. After all it is Ride and Dine.

Then Leah and Carly got ready to ride. The horses are easier than the calves are to ride.

Carly and Brandie made a good team.

Leah holds Bobbie as Jade takes a ride. That was right before Bobbie decided the sand would be a great place to roll.

Su watched the tent while I gadded about.

Ron and Lindsay enjoyed a quiet moment with the horses. They are both hard working volunteers.

After dinner we all packed up and got ready to go home.

What a beautiful end to a day at Camelot.

Then came Sunday and Leah's 10th birthday. Leah is a hardworking volunteer who asked that folks donate to Home At Last instead of giving her presents. She is one special horse person. Thank you, Leah. You raised $70.00 to feed the horses.
Helen made her a special cake.

We had great food and lots of fun. Some of the party goers even worked cleaning stalls. Thanks Martin and Lindsay.
Some groomed the horses and others gave out lots of love.

We always seem to have fun at Home At Last.

Lots of food. Lots of talking.

More food. More talking.

Friends, too.

Was I tired? You bet. Did I have fun? You bet!!!!

The rain didn't stop anyone.

Everyone left and only the balloons were left- outside and

inside.

And the house is empty until next time.
