Soggy Sunday

Levi discovered the hot wire wasn't and kept getting out. He and Daisy are in the round ring until the short in the fence can be found. Daisy is in her snugly blanket and Levi never seems to mind the weather.
Tucker went in with Quest for the day, but wanted out this evening when the sun peeked through for a few minutes.
Smoke was in with Bobbie for overnight, but also wanted out when the sun came out.
Marnie wanted in but he has an open stall and I don't want him to hurt himself if he is confined.
Juan loves Rosie, so he spent the night with Breeze Bay who is stalled in front of Rosie. Rosie doesn't share her stall well, but Juan was happy just to be near her. He, too, wanted out when the sun showed itself.
The donkeys find all sorts of places to be out of the weather. We opened the horse trailer and put treats in it, but no one ventured more than a nose inside. Gracie sometimes goes under the back deck (it's tall) to stay dry.
Thanks, Eileen, for the latest blanket. It fits Skittles perfectly. She wasn't sure about sliding something over her head, but when it was on she said, "Ah. Perfect." Tiger Lily has a blanket, too.
We put one on Stuart, but being a macho Kiger mustang, he prefers the elements, to a fashion statement. His came off quickly.
Lucky and Cricket always have an open stall. Sometimes they share. Sometimes they don't.
I think we have had a kabillion inches of rain already with a kabillion more promised. Should start clearing Tuesday and we'll put those stalled up out for a while. The Thoroughbreds especially DO NOT like this stall only stuff. They want and need room to romp.
Has anyone invented mud skis? I think they would sell well. I'm not complaining about the mud yet. Jim is.
Our wind turbine got a good work out and the new generator has been steadily chugging along.
Happy Birthday Helen. It was fun to celebrate together.
The lower barn has 14 stalls with 7 stalls on each side. We close in the middle so there are 21 stalls all together. We leave 5 of the back stalls open so those who want in can stay dry. Sometimes there are 4 horses in one stall. The closed stalls are for those who need to stay dry or who would be bullied out into the rain.
The upper barn has 6 stalls with 12 horses in them. We really do need some more shelters. Not all the horses want to go in, but we need a place where they can go in if they wish.
Maybe tomorrow will be a good picture day. When I have my green rainsuit on there is no place to put the camera.
On Tuesday it will be winter officially. Can hardly wait to see what winter weather will be.
Thank you to all who have been such good friends and supporters of Home At Last.
