It was cold
Early this morning

And the sky was beautiful. Banjoe and Julian helped Jim get the trailer ready for loading hay. They are weaned now and really loves. They come when called, wait for sratches and pets and lean their heads against you as a thank you. Oh, does that sunshine feel good.
Lexi found a sunny spot to eat. Everyone is sunning themselves- Jesse, Breeze Bay, Keecha, Banjoe and Maggie B. Levi found a ball in his pen and tried to play nose soccer.
When my dad and I used to go for rides he would say as we passed an empty lot " See that building that isn't there? It used to be a store, or business or whatever...." Well, I say " See the
mosquitos that aren't there? Well, there used to be a million." The oil did its job.

Love helped herself to the leftover beet pulp and grain.
This morning Tess and Trixie were anxious to get out of the barn and into the big turnout. Tucker the mule is the official greeter to all new horses, but Tess did not welcome mule attentions. After sniffing noses Tucker had to duck flying hooves. He tries to visit with Trixie, but with the same results. He moved off a ways, clearly puzzled by the turn of events. By evening Trixie and Tess had become part of the herd. They were eating with the others and enjoying their freedom. We wrapped the goats in warm towels and a jacket and put them in front of the heater, but 3 are very weak. As the day progressed 2 could no longer move
One is almost gone. Jim is holding him and we are all saying good-bye. Poor little fellow.
He's gone.
