Friday March 5 2010

To live where we do- to have the animals around us - to have good and loyal friends and family- to have the support of all of you- we are truly blessed. Thank you.
This is one of the six loads of laundry a day we did when we had 4 baby goats. No wonder we are glad to see the sunshine so we can use the solar power to get them clean.

The Magnificent Seven (Bobbie, Jesse, Cash, Tory, Braveheart, Breeze, and Ruby) were out and about today. They are older and have a hard time keeping their weight on. Bobbie enjoys the grass near the birds' house. Jesse was camera shy . Tory is getting ready for a good roll in the mud.
Cash , Breeze, Braveheart and Tory hang out near the front fence.
Ruby likes to stay near the lower barn. She likes hay better than grass and always puts herself away before I start feeding.
Last night I sat up til 4AM holding the three goats. One died while I was petting him and the other slipped into a coma about the same time. He died before I came in from feeding this morning. The last boy has his stuffed animal to sleep with but he spends most of the time in our laps. Jim said he had been thinking of a name for this little fellow. Mr. S, he said. The Sole Survivor. About that time Beth came running into the room saying, "I've just thought of the perfect name for the goat- Mr.S because he survived!!!" Is that strange or what? Mr. S it is. Good night, Mr. S.
Thank you Lorie and Brian for your donations and thank you to the students at Chico State University Friends of Animals for your generous donation.
