What is Mr. S wearing? I've diapered babies. I've even put diapers on horses' hooves that were abcessed, but this is the first time I've ever diapered a goat. It was too cold to go out and Mr. S needed some exercise. He didn't seem to mind. Fiesty left the area before he was next.Amy and Aaron came by to help with chores since Jim is under the weather. (Actually, he is under the covers).Aaron and Tuffy rest after loading hay for me for tonight and tomorrow morning. Aaron is accepting new clients in the Butte County area. If you need an excellent farrier for your horse, goat or pig give Aaron a call. 530-570-4927.
Before they left Amy and Aaron helped me put away some of the horses who were out grazing.Beth romped with Mr. S on the deck. Then her friend Emily came and
Beth and Emily played with Mr. S while Mona and Lilly dogs kept an eye on things. Lilly took to mothering him and really was a good baby(kid) sitter. They all spent a long time together.
After all that attention Mr. S had a nap in the sun. He is a Nubian/Alpine cross and is supposed to do well in the warmer weather. He slept for a long time.
Helen brought a snuggy blanket for Mr. S. She had rubbed the blanket on her nanny goat. I think Mr. S loves it. What do you think?
Then Helen took her usual place in the mini pen and the girls took theirs. Look closely behind the rocks. Maggie B, Sugar and Posey love it when Helen comes because they know she has treats for them, but sometimes they are just plain silly and hide behind rocks or race around in circles. When the round ring dries out she may have better luck with just one at a time. Princess puffed up like a cat who had been put through the dryer when the next company came in. Our final visitors of the day were Linda and Jack. Jack was a little camera shy, but enjoyed eating the cat's food. Linda and Steve have some property near us and we are always glad when they stop in.
Jim made a brief evening appearence, but his tummy kept him from being good company. He disappeared again to the back of the house.
I was so tired from the day's adventures I sat to rest and fell asleep. That's why yesterday's blog is today.
