A bay is a body coloring- brown with a black mane and tail. Occasionally there are white socks, stockings or white markings on the face. Bays often have black points, or markings on their muzzle, tips of ears, mane, tail, and on the lower parts of their legs.
Brandie is a dark bay, almost looking black sometimes. Her winter coat sunburns and then she is almost reddish.
Breeze Bay is a beautiful Arabian mare with dark tips on her ears.
Sweetie Pie is a Hackney Pony with a white blaze on her face.
Tess is another Arab mare with dark points.
Dancing Drum is a Thoroughbred mare with a star on her forehead.

Lady Bug is a bay mule with a light brown muzzle- often called a mealy muzzle.
Molly mule has one, too.

Pico is a very dark bay Westphalian. He almost looks black at times.
Stoney shows how striking a bay can be. Skittles is a sweet bay Quarter Horse mare. Pedro and Ruby are bay Thoroughbreds. They are quite a pair.
Rico and Chance are inseparable bay Thoroughbred buddies.
Cash is a Thoroughbred also. His face is greying because of his age. He has joined Breeze Bay and Jesse as a pasture mate. When he first came to Home At Last he did not want to leave the barn and he definitely DID NOT want to be with other horses. He loves being in a herd now.
Harmony is a well trained Arab mare. She performs wonderfully once she realizes she must behave. She is a loner who doesn't like to share.
Navajo is a mahogany bay who glistens in the sun. He has a zigzag star on his forehead. When Navajo was rescued he was starved almost to death. His two pasture mates had died from lack of food and care. He is now one outstanding boy. He will go into training soon.
A correction in last night's blog. Belle mule does have a tumor in the corner of her eyelid. She is being carefully watched.

A HUGE thank you to Cathy S for the computer "thing"-an external hard drive. She even sent instructions. She, also., sent some wonderful and thoughtful gifts. I'll wear them proudly .
