Hurray Pictures, but first........

Hurray !! I have pictures- for today any way. I'll show last week-end and this week-end during the week, but I want to share some other things with you first.
This is a HUGE thank you to all the responsible families who have placed their beloved pets here. Lisa has given me permission to share her story. It is the same for all the families who we have met.
Lisa bought her wonderful Frankie with dreams of days of riding. When Frankie (below) was injured she spent a lot of money (we have the records), time and care to help him heal. It became apparent that his injury would not allow him to be ridden. Lisa did not get rid of him. She kept him and cared for him. When money got tight she gave up her luxuries to keep Frankie. The economy dealt her a harsh blow and she knew she had to find a place for Frankie to spend his days.
She did not put him up for sale. She did not send him to auction. She did not abandon him. She checked all her options. Euthanasia was not needed as Frankie has a great quality of life. She called places, visited for herself, and she checked references. Even though it is breaking her heart still, she made the best choice for Frankie.
Frankie came to Home At Last on Saturday and he is truly home at last. He has room to run, a herdmate- Moon Dancer- and a place to live out his life.
We have other wonderful owners who have spent their time researching and heartsearching about what is best for their pet. Thank you all for trusting us with your loved ones.Moon Dancer came last week and was placed by her loving owner. She has lost the sight in one eye but is enjoying her days with Frankie. They make a stunning pair.

When I saw this plant saucer in the pond, I pulled it out, but it was covered with resting tadpoles, so back in the water it went.
The chicken coop needs cleaning. It is truly a breathtaking experience- not visually, but nasally. The manure will be used in the garden.
Rico, Chance and Pedro were tired of barn life so Jim and Dunny built an alleyway so they could go right into the turnout.
Hey, Jim , you are off by a nose. Need mine?

Thanks, Dunny. You are a great help.

Whatcha doin? Can I help? Huh? Huh? Huh?
The boys enjoy their dinner together.
Rico chose to eat alone.
We have an intern from Chico State University. Welcome to Home At Last, Savannah.

There is a lot more news, but it will have to wait. We had 4 volunteers-thank you Gracie, Marti, Rachel and Helen- today and seemed to be busy all day.
