Here are some pictures from our last week's adventures and events.
These are pictures from our outing at the Paradise Horemen's Arena during Gold Nugget Days. We shared an area with NorCal Equine Rescue and the North Valley Animal Disaster Group. They really helped us when we had to evacuate a couple of summers ago with the fires. For those of you familiar with my limited computer talents, you'll understand why this picture is here and not somewhere else. Tried to move it, but here it is. This is Helen working with Amira (formerly Trixie). They have a great relationship. Helen is a faithful volunteer. Thank you, Helen. Back to the Paradise week-end. Beth shows off our tee shirts and our drawing items.
Yes, it was a long day. Babe and Beth rest a bit. Get ready for next Saturday
We could only stay a couple of hours at the Spring Fling at Spring Valley School, but we had fun.
More good items for the drawings on June 13 at Patrick ranch in Durham.

This is a great idea. Post these forms at your home and during an emergency your pets will have information available for their care. During the evacuations some pets had to be left behind or owners couldn't return to the area. This lets emergency people know which animals are at home and what they need.

Today was a warm beautiful day. The animals found sun or shade and had a relaxing afternoon. The greens are so soft and the grasses so lush. The goats and I took a walk around the property and Tucker was very interested. We're afraid he might feel as unkindly toward the goats as he did toward the potbellied pigs at his former residence. We kept the goats far, far away.
As I was driving to get Beth at school there was a herd of cattle, eating, resting, watching the cars. I laughed at them and told them they couldn't fool me. Some folks may think they are stupid bovines, but after knowing Banjoe and Julian I know that cows are smart, loving, and very aware. Maybe people ignore their qualities because it makes it easier to butcher them.
That made me wonder if that's how prejudices are. Is it easier to be prejudiced if you don't know or understand others' ideas, beliefs, creeds? Just a thought.
Spring is a great time at the Sanctuary. The days are comfortable, the flies have just begun and the trees are fresh and green. Come by and see us.
