# 58

Dunny, Dancing Drum, and Star wait patiently for their food. They are such good friends. Dancer is the main mare, but she rules with a soft hoof. All three have done so well together. They have put on weight and are a peaceful herd.Look!! Can't remember what I planted, but it's growing.

The sunflowers and eggplants are doing well.
The little plant that Beth and I transplanted is getting bigger.

Jim and Steve work on Coral Belle.

Good work, guys.
Cool water tastes good on a warm day. Just ask Keecha.
Gracie wants to know what's going on. Well, Gracie, I was gone for a couple of hours and all sorts of things happened. Aaron and Amy came. While Aaron trimmed Charles, Belle, Moon Dancer, Frankie and Stoney Amy grabbed a few fly masks and put them on the horses. For some of the horses this will be the third time they have had them on. Maybe I can velcro the masks to their heads.

Quest is wearing his but Stuart isn't. These horses greeted me in the lower barn.

Tess and Amira have their masks off , but are sharing a secret.
Tucker's tail has static electricity. He's sharing in the secret, too.
The secret is that while I was gone, Tawnee from NorCal Equine Rescue delivered equine # 58- Calli the mule. Calli was a guide to a blind horse Annie, but Annie died before she got here. Calli is very sweet and is missing her friend. She whinnied and cried all the time I was feeding tonight.
There is a large lump on Calli's jaw. It could be an old injury or a broken tooth. Dr. Darling will check her carefully.

Her hooves are in terrible shape. It could be that she foundered at one time. Aaron will be here again to take care of her. Look at her poor swollen knee. I'm afraid this little girl has had a rough time. Can anyone sponsor her for even $5.00 a month? She is going to need a lot of support.
Her whinnies were so heartbreaking that I moved Lexi down to be with her. They touched noses and seemed to accept one another. I hope Lexi can fill the empty spot in Calli's heart.
All was quiet in the barn when I headed for bed.

Patches reminds us that we are all small creatures in a very big world. We need to take care of one another.
Thank you Carolene for your donation.
