This is one of the most picturesque canyons I've ever seen.
Very quickly we left the foothills and started up in to the forest. A train parallels the Hiway for most of the trip.
Only a few big trucks and one road repair slowed our progress.
When we got to Sierraville grand daughter Beth and her mom Jade were waiting for us.

LD uses an old snow saucer for a great ride.
All too soon it was time to leave.
What beautiful country. There is so much water available and so many planted fields.
Lots of open land.
We passed through Portola and Quincy.
The Feather River rolled along beside the road.

Back to the herd and feeding and watering horses, donkeys, mules, calves, goats, dogs, cats, chickens, and Guineas.
