Today was a ho hum day. Nothing extra, but every moment special. Jim and I have both had experiences that make us appreciate each and every day. A ho hum day is just fine. Nothing bad, but we are celebrating being alive.
Lucky is celebrating being at Home At Last. This morning I was able to pet both he and Cricket. It was a mere pat, but neither ran away.Tucker has a bowed tendon, but can celebrate better than anyone. He spent all last summer in a cast in a stall. He was very unhappy. All he wanted was to be out with his herd. Finally, we decided his quality of life was more important than more years, so we turned him loose. Boy, did we have a show. He ran and bucked and tossed his head. Then at a run he flew off the pad where the lower barn is and landed on his sore leg. He limps now, but that doesn't stop him. He still canters and bucks. Dr D feels the limp is more mechanical than painful. As long as Tucker can enjoy life he can be limpy and free.
Juan and Molly want attention all the time. Farrier Aaron was here today and Juan's hoof problem was discussed. We picked up his Xrays and tomorrow Aaron will start fixing that very bad and sore foot.
