Salt of the Earth

Today we delivered 10 salt blocks to the animals. Each block weighs 50 pounds. Loading them in the tractor makes it easier to move them. Some of the blocks had to go by wheel barrow up to Frankie, Moon Dancer, Belle and Charles.

Frankie and Moon Dancer show their appreciation by licking together.

Jim was afraid that Daisy couldn't find the salt.

I think she found it OK.

Cash is almost to his block.

Rico took over before the calves could get to it.

Jim gets ready to throw one into the minis' pen.

Maggie is not sure what that white thing is.

Posey checks it out.

The big herd has really used their block.

We loaded Neal Darrow the wheelbarrow on Lucy Brown the tractor. Jim headed down to the lower barn.

Posey decided the salt block was very tasty.

Here they are.

Pico and Calli watch Jim put the blocks at the end of the barn.

Quincy and Tiger Lily enjoy the new salt while Calli watches.

Finally Calli tries her block. Mmmmmm.

Molly smells something good. Where's my salt?

Chance and Jim have a personal time together. He is such a love. Racing Thoroughbreds at 2 years old is just wrong. Finally Julian and Banjoe get their turn.

We have to buy at least 5 more salt blocks. At $5.50 each that's $27.50. Anybody want to buy a block for the horses? You can use PayPal at the top of the blog.
Thank you to everyone who helps the horses.
