Busy Day

Today was busy in a business sort of way. After feeding, Helen came to get me and we went to talk with the SCORE office. They help businesses get a good start. We wanted to talk about the upcoming thrift shop. There is so much to learn.
Then we met Jim and Ron at the potential store site. That was great!! I think things are going to work out. We'll need lots of donations and volunteers to help out. Will let you know more as we know more.

Quincy and Tiger Lily have become quite a pair. Quincy changes ladies often. Babe and Lacey were his last loves. He seems to like his ladies fiesty and Babe and Tiger Lily fit the description. Tiger Lily is a Kiger mustang who lost an eye in an accident and her owner was going to shoot her. He said she was worthless with only one eye. Quincy thinks she's just fine as she is.

Dancing Drum and Star (with Dunny in the background) love being close to the house. They get extra pets and loves. Star has the equine equivalent of MS. He has been doing very well.
Aren't they beautiful? It's hard to believe they would have been slaughtered.

Poe is at home now. He has even given up butting-sometimes. When it gets cold or rainy, four little goats pile into their house and keep warm and dry. Poe hasn't gotten on top of the house yet. He prefers to stay earthbound.

Promise and Charity the Standardbreds helped Jim and Brian when they were filling in the drainage ditch. The girls knew their help was needed and were right in the middle of everything. We didn't know about Standardbreds, but if they are all like these girls, they are a wonderful breed.
We didn't know the girls' registered names when they came (we still don't) but thought one of them had Promise in her name. We had had a Faith horse and a Hope horse, so we thought we should have a Charity horse.
They torment Wild Bill the mule, but he is unhappy if he is not in with them. Love is strange.

Thank you all for your kind words and thoughts at the loss of Jackson.
Remember, please, there are over 60 horses, donkeys and mules who can use your support. Any amount helps. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
