A Great Day At Tractor Supply Company in Oroville

After chores this morning we loaded Sparkle and set off. Sparkle didn't like the idea of leaving the Sanctuary. He wondered what was going to happen next. He unloaded and looked around. Where am I? Am I going to like this place?
Hey, Sparkle, we're at Tractor Supply in Oroville and I think you are going to love it. We do.

Soon Laura and Emily were grooming Sparkle and he watched everything that was going on. Who is that coming?

It's Jenny and Bob and they just got married!!! Welcome to the family, Bob. He owns Steelhead Bar B Q and is planning a fund raiser for us in the Spring.

Emily takes time off from working for a little Christmas nibble. Emily is one of our dedicated volunteers who really knows about horses.

Lloyd and Katie dog rest while Zoey and Little Joe find a treat or two. Tumbleweed Productions and Feather River Gypsies provided the ponies so children could have a ride. They will bring the ponies next Sat and a photographer will be there to take pictures of the children on the ponies. Come on by and see us.

Elves Leah and Carly arrived and the ponies got ready to go to work. Aren't they the cutest things?

Once the elves arrived the work started. Round and round they went. Children who had never ridden before had smiles that covered their whole faces. You could feel the joy. We warned parents that once children got the "horse bug" it was a lifelong affliction.

Happy children. Happy ponies.

All day long- round and round.

Right across from us was the Palermo 4H swine unit with delicious goodies. MMMM

Many people stopped to hear about Sparkle and Home At Last. We even got a new volunteer.

Tina and Jenny shared a hug. There were many hugs and tears of joy today. Home At Last maintains a policy of kindness and compassion for everyone and every living thing.

Sparkle loved the attention. He visited with all who would stop and see him. "More treats, please."
Folks could not believe the cruelty that Sparkle and others faced. The resounding question was How could anyone do that?
Sparkle is a fine ambassador for Home At Last. He is proud, kind and a survivor. He shows what love, kindness and proper treatment can do.

We worked and talked all day. We didn't even have time for lunch.
By day's end Katie was exhausted.

Lloyd was exhausted.

Leah was exhausted.

Carly was exhausted.

I was exhausted. We shared a lot of information , received many donations, made some new friends, saw old friends and can hardly wait until next Saturday when we will be back. Come by and see us from 10-2 Sat. Dec 18.
Thank you, Tractor Supply Company in Oroville. You always make us feel so welcome. You are a good friend to Home At Last.
After chores tonight we went to Gold City Grill for dinner. We were all too tired to cook or wash dishes. Thanks, everyone. See you next week.
Tomorrow is volunteer day. We'll have lots to do and talk about.
