Dark Clouds Thurs. April 8 2010

This morning when we woke up the sky was blue, the sun was shining and there were no clouds.

By this afternoon the sky was still clear, but there were dark, heavy clouds shadowing our hearts. Warrior, Beth's 3 year old Quarter Horse, had fallen and injured his spine. He had to be put down.
Thank you, Dr. Darling, for making his passing easier.
Last year Warrior came to us as an unwanted gelding because he was not trained and had a hernia. We fixed his hernia and started his training. He was the sweetest most agreeable horse we have ever had.
Everyone-horses and people- alike loved him. Leeso and Stoney were his favorites, but he ate and played with everyone.
He was a beautiful sorrel with kind eyes and a gentle heart.
Beth has a few words she wants to say about her first horse:
I loved Warrior from the first second I saw him. It almost was lke a switch for a light turning on. I thought I would have him for ever and ever.

This was in the middle of June. I decided to paint him. I thought the name "Warrior" sounded like an Indian name and the Indians painted their horses so this was my painted warrior horse. Here is a great photo of that great horse:

This is him drinking...what a funny boy.

Good-bye, Warrior, see you at the Rainbow Bridge.
