Patrick Ranch

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers and staff who made our visit to Patrick Ranch a great adventure. Special thanks to John, Jan and Barbara for hosting such a wonderful event. Patrick Ranch is preserving a way of life that would be forgotten. Thank you, also, to all the folks who stopped by to learn about Home At Last and for your donations. You helped care for the herd.
Patrick Ranch is about showing the ways of our agricultural past and present in this great area.

This sunflower greeter the visitors. Jesse's neighbors were so cute, it was hard to come home without trying to sneak one of these draft mule foals in to the trailer.
These beautiful animals belong to the Book Family Farm. They raise Belgians and now mules.

Jesse's other neighbors were beautiful, too, just a little more sheepish.
Patrick Ranch had built new corrals for the critters and have plans for a big interactive barn.
Jim gives Jesse a good spraying for the pesky flies.

We had pictures of some of the animals at Home At Last, but it is outdated. With 57 we need a new board.

Jesse enjoys his hay and awaits the visitors.

Nearby was an old friend who makes horseshoes on site.

Not far away is the mobile chicken mansion.
This is the people mansion- not mobile.
Vendors were selling everything from toys, to purses, to art work to dodads. And food!!!!
It is the perfect place for families to spend the day.

The honey bees put on a show and their honey was for sale.

The draft horses are magnificent. Some were getting ready to go to work.

Some were getting ready to get ready. And some were just resting.
Aren't I beautiful?
Just wonderful.

Then there were all kinds of old time farm vehicles doing all kinds of work.

After the wheat was threshed and ground, children could make biscuits, cook them in solar ovens, and then eat them.
I wonder if they used the honey from the bees?
The Border Collies were right next to us again. We enjoyed meeting their owners and the dogs.
This dog was ready to work.
The dogs enjoyed this more than the sheep did. The end.
