Sunday was an absolutely great day. Volunteers came and lots of work got done. Laura came as did Tina and her girls. Emily came, too.
Emily and Carly helped tend the burn pile.
Emily and Carly visited with Rosie, who loved every bit of the attention.
Emily fixed Juan's mane. Aren't they a cute couple?
Jesse and his daughter Mallory came, too. Jesse worked for several hours- burning, cleaning and grooming horses. He's, also, going to help with the tractor's alternator. Thanks so much , Jesse.
He took time to visit with Levi II.
Helen came, too. She visited with Amira and Tess. Amira was an unwanted mare. She was untrained. Helen worked with her so now she is rideable. Tess was a Clint Richie Arabian who was rescued by HorsePlus.
Then even more friends came to see the sanctuary. Scott and Tina (and me) visited with the herd. They heard the stories of much of the herd.
Thanks for the tack, Tina.
Carly and Emily take a break to rock climb.
Helen is a true horse whisperer. She's telling Navajo a secret. Navajo is another horse Helen is training.
Lady Bug, Sweetie Pie and Smoke look out the back barn, watching the group going down to the pond.
Sweetie Pie's eye has healed.
I'm not the only one who looses her boots.
Notice the bare feet? The girls are trying to figure out how to get the boots out of the pond muck.
This picture is not upside down. Tina took the picture of the pond. Beautiful, huh?
Carly, Leah, Scott and Tina have a laugh with Jim. Helen and Tina rescued my on the roof boot and now I am properly shod again.
It was a really great day. All the folks who visit love the feeling of the sanctuary. It is busy, peaceful and full of lots of love. We stress that the animals come first. Their care and needs are foremost in our activities. Add to that we have respect for all living things and the sanctuary becomes a very special place.
